For Texas Health Resources’ blog, I research and write articles on a variety of health and well-being topics important to the corporation’s patients and other audiences – from diet and exercise to common illnesses and timely topics.  For Black, Mann & Graham, I develop strategy and content for the firm’s social media program and a monthly newsletter to current and prospective clients.


Containing and minimizing issues that could disrupt the organization, like executive changes, M&As, succession plans.

When the North Texas Food Bank, one of the largest nonprofits in the area, announced the retirement of its long-time CEO, I developed a communications plan to minimize potential stakeholder perception that her departure would affect the operation and sustainability of the nonprofit. 


Developing a plan to react or manage a crisis to minimize the effect on your reputation and that of your stakeholders.

For American Airlines, I served as a member of its agency response team charged with handling crises, including crashes.  For AT&T (then Southwestern Bell), I was the first member of my agency team on the ground following the first case of domestic terrorism in Oklahoma City, managing crisis communications for the telecommunications giant.


Gathering, packaging and placing a story with target news media to elevate your organization or its leadership.

With After8toEducate, I conceived a media plan to generate influencer awareness about the need to shelter homeless Dallas Independent School District students, featuring a prominent North Texas philanthropist.  For World Autism Awareness Month, I placed a TV news story to raise awareness about the importance of hiring individuals with disabilities. 


Raising awareness about worthy causes like alleviating hunger, tackling youth homelessness and the promoting the arts.

As CMO of the North Texas Food Bank, I managed the annual holiday campaign that generated millions for the nonprofit, and orchestrated the communications program to support its $55 million Stop Hunger Build Hope capital campaign of its kind.  For After8toEducate, I developed a communications strategy and assets to announce a first-of-its-kind initiative to provide a housing solution to homeless Dallas students. 



Brett advised executive level leadership on the initial media roll-out and communications of the After8toEducate collaborative initiative. I depended upon his dynamic expertise in working with multiple agency partners and steady guidance which resulted in broad-based coverage on a variety of media outlets.
